1. What types of items can Maitland Framing Gallery frame?
We specialise in custom framing for a wide range of items, including artwork, photographs, jerseys, mirrors, needlework, diamond paintings, certificates, memorabilia, posters, and 3D objects like sporting goods and hand casts. We also stretch and frame canvas artworks and block mount posters/photos. If you have a unique item not listed here, feel free to contact us to discuss your framing needs.
2. How long does the framing process take?
The time it takes to complete your framing project can vary depending on the complexity of the work and our current workload. Generally, most framing jobs are completed within 2 to 3 weeks. We'll provide a more accurate timeline when you place your order. If you require something urgently, you can choose from the range of stock we have on hand, which eliminates the shipping time frame from our suppliers and depending on our workload, may be able to complete your order in one or two days.
3. Can Maitland Framing Gallery repair damaged frames?
Yes, we offer frame repair services. Whether it's a small crack or a more significant restoration, our skilled craftsmen can assess the damage and recommend the best course of action to restore your frame to its former glory.
4. Do you offer any guarantees on your work?
Absolutely. We stand behind the quality of our workmanship with a satisfaction guarantee. If there is a fault with our work, we are happy to rectify this.

As timber is a natural product, there may be some variation to the frame samples displayed which we have no control over.

We go above and beyond in checking photos, diamond painting and needlework for any corrections needed before framing - marks, creases, missed stitches etc. We take great pride in getting the little details correct, but we are not magicians and cannot make an old piece look new. We can advise on options to compliment your piece and make it look it’s best.
5. Are there different types of glass available for framing?
Yes, we offer a variety of glass options, including standard clear glass, non-reflective, UltraVue70, and museum glass, to best suit your framing needs and protect your items from fading and damage.
6. How can I choose the right frame for my item?
Our experienced team can help guide you through our selection of frames, mats, and glass options to find the perfect match for your piece. We consider the item being framed, your personal style, and where the item will be displayed to ensure you're delighted with the outcome.
7. Can you frame large items or odd-shaped objects?
Yes, we can accommodate a wide range of sizes and shapes with our custom framing services. Our team has the expertise to frame almost anything, and we love a challenge!
8. What are your opening hours?
Our gallery is open from Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays. Appointments outside opening hours are available with advanced notice.
9. How do I care for my framed item?
We recommend displaying your framed item away from direct sunlight and high humidity areas. Dust the frame lightly with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using cleaning chemicals or water on the glass.
10. Do you offer shipping for framed items?
Currently, we offer local pickup at our gallery. Please contact us for more details. We may be able to assist with delivery of finished works within the local Maitland area - just ask us if you require help with transporting larger projects.
11. Do you stretch canvases?
Yes we certainly do! We use a quality kiln dried stretcher bar so they won’t shrink or warp over time, causing artwork to sag. Prices will vary depending on the size and quality of the piece. We do not quote these things over the phone, as we like to see the artwork first - some budget prints are not suitable for stretching.
12. Can you print my photo or artwork?
Yes. We have a professional wide format printer on site. We are able to print your photos and art prints right here in our store, then stretch or frame it. This reduces long waits or risk of damage of your prints during transit. We offer the choice of quality canvases, photographic paper, art paper and cotton paper for your prints and use professional grade photographic inks.

Email your file to us, or bring it in on a usb.

We can also assist with minor edits/alterations to your photos prior to printing. ie: cropping, adjustment of contrast, removal of background objects etc - please come talk to us about your requirements and ask us for a quote. We are unable to edit professional photos or remove watermarks.
13. Do you have onsite parking?
Yes. We have off street parking to the side of the building and flat easy access to the front door.
14. Can I purchase mats or glass without purchasing a frame?
We have some pre-cut mats within our floor stock, or we can cut a mat in any size or colour you require. For glass purchases please come in and speak to our staff about your requirements.
15. Should I use a mat when I get something framed?
We recommend the use of a mat to enhance the appearance of your framed piece and to prevent your photo or artwork from sticking to the glass.
16. What payment options do you have available?
Visa, Mastercard, Cash. We can now also offer the option to pay via Afterpay and ZipPay to help spread the cost of framing across regular payments.
